On Thursday, 13th September 2007 at 19:10hrs, my wife Hannah gave birth to our little baby girl, Alba, at Candelaria Hospital, Tenerife. Alba was a staggering 3.98kg which is 8lbs 12oz in old money. I am pleased to say she is well and healthy, as is her mother.
Hannah
went into labour around 13:00 and we had to dash to the hospital as
things started to move pretty quick. We spent a desperate period in a
traffic jam on the TF1 motorway but finally checked in at 16:10; baby
Alba popped out 3 hours later.
The Spanish have a wonderful expression for giving birth; "dar luz", which litterally means "to give light". I will never forget the moment that Hannah "gave light" to our precious baby Alba.
This afternoon I brought the girls home and they seem to have settled in fine already.
Greetings to all from Hannah and me.
