Infra Red Photography - 2015 to present
I like to think of infrared as invisible light: light that exists beyond the wavelengths the human eye can perceive. Using a specially adapted camera capable of capturing the full spectrum of light, together with a filter that blocks ultraviolet and visible wavelengths, the resulting image, when correctly white-balanced, becomes black and white.
In these photographs, the sky, which absorbs large amounts of infrared light, turns deep black, while trees and vegetation, rich in reflected infrared, appear bright white. The effect is dramatic, surreal, and strangely beautiful.
